I’m writing The Healthcare Rebellion (2027), a non-fiction narrative memoir investigating how institutional power structures have embedded inequity into UK women’s healthcare for centuries, causing disparity that persists today. The book traces the direct lineage from ancient hierarchies to modern medical failures, interweaving my own lobular breast cancer story with the history of activist resistance since the 1970s.
It empowers readers to recognise medical misogyny as systemic patterns rather than isolated incidents and identifies how interconnected health failures link to historical oppression. Offering insight into leading effective political campaigns and lobbying for vital research, the book will provide practical tools to help readers advocate effectively using research-backed evidence, communicate confidently with healthcare providers, and build broader coalitions for systems change through women’s health activist networks.
Why your story matters
Many women have no idea lobular exists or understand the significant lack of global research, which means women who are diagnosed have no specific treatment. By sharing your experience, you’ll help raise awareness and empower other women now and in the future.
I need YOUR voice
Chapter 2 spotlights the real experiences of lobular patients – the diagnostic challenges, the fear of recurrence and legitimate concerns being dismissed by a system that’s meant to protect them.
